November 25th.. Launch of the activities of the international conference “Contemporary Women’s Issues”

Professor Dr. Ashraf Al-Derfili, Executive Director of the Union of Afro-Asia Universities, announced the preparation for the international conference “Contemporary Women’s Issues in the Writings of Reformists: Challenges and Solutions,” scheduled to take place from November 25 to 26 in Istanbul.

This announcement was made during a meeting held by the conference’s higher committee, attended by Al-Derfili, along with the Union’s Organizational Committee Chair, Prof. Dr. Abdul-Majid Al-Makhlafi, the Union’s and conference’s Media Committee Chair, Prof. Dr. Abdul-Karim Al-Wazzan, and Media Committee Vice-Chair, Dr. Magda Mahmoud, as well as other Media Committee members.

The conference is organized by the Union of Afro-Asia Universities in collaboration with Mohammed V University in Rabat, the Union of Arab Women Leaders, and Aqua Group for Technology and Education.

The conference will discuss several topics:

  1. The status of women in Islam between theory and practical application.
  2. The role of women in achieving intellectual and societal security.
  3. Strategies for addressing fabricated women’s issues, their motives, goals, and practical solutions.
  4. Women in the writings of contemporary reformists.
  5. Media and women’s issues.

Al-Wazzan urged academics and researchers to contribute scientifically to the conference with rigorous research highlighting the main challenges facing contemporary women. He also mentioned that the conference management is coordinating to facilitate visa issuance for researchers to travel to Turkey for in-person participation.

Al-Wazzan emphasized the importance of media in promoting the conference and its topics to reach a wider academic audience in the region, calling for media outlets to engage in effective conference promotion across various platforms.

For her part, Media Committee Vice-Chair Dr. Magda Mahmoud stated that her committee has completed its preparations to provide media services for the women’s conference and upcoming conferences in the next phase.
