The death of His Eminence Sheikh Youssef bin Jassim Al-Hajji

The Union of Afro-Asian Universities extends its sincere condolences to the State of Kuwait and the Arab and Islamic world for the loss of the humanitarian and volunteer work, His Eminence Sheikh Yousef bin Jassim Al-Hajji, one of the most prominent business leaders in the State of Kuwait and the Arab and Islamic world, who passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2020, at the age of 97, full of giving and support for universities, institutes and scientific institutions, especially sponsoring students from all over the world. The deceased, God willing, participated in establishing the International Islamic Charitable Organization, and headed the Kuwaiti Relief Committee, which carried out relief work in disaster areas around the Islamic world, such as Bosnia and Herzegovina, Somalia, Lebanon, Sudan and Iraq. Sheikh Al-Hajji also participated in establishing and managing a number of charitable societies in Kuwait, and was Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Zakat House, Vice Chairman of the World Islamic Council for Call and Relief in Cairo, Chairman of its Financing Committee, and a member of the Muslim World League.
In the face of this great calamity, the Union of Afro-Asian Universities offers its sincere condolences and sympathy to the family of the deceased and to the State of Kuwait, asking God Almighty to bestow His vast mercy upon the deceased and to grant him a place in His spacious gardens and to inspire his family and relatives with patience and solace.
