The Union of Afro-Asian Universities mourns the doctor of the poor
The Federation of Afro-Asian Universities, its President, Secretary-General, Chairman of the Advisory Board, and Executive Director, and on behalf of all members of the Union from the continents of Africa and Asia, extend their sincere condolences and sympathy to the deceased of the Islamic nation and humanity as a whole, Dr. Muhammad Mashali, who passed away and his pure soul ascended to its Creator on 7/28/2020. His body was buried at his birthplace in Itay El-Baroud, Beheira Governorate, after a journey of giving and dedication in serving the poor, the sick, and the needy. The name of Dr. Muhammad Mashali will remain a symbol of a person loyal to his humanity and his kind, and loyal to his covenant with his father, and dedicated his life, knowledge, and work, especially after the incident that had a great impact on the life of Dr. Muhammad Mashali, which was the death of a child in his arms due to the child’s family’s inability to buy insulin for him. The most prominent thing that makes the Federation of Afro-Asian Universities proud and appreciate the status of these divine scholars, the owners of morals and work, and records him as a symbol and value that must be emulated is the distance of Dr. Muhammad Mashali spoke about selfishness and exploitation in the name of the medical profession, which is the most honorable and noble of professions. He did not look at or compare what he received from the state with what he provided. He also did not exploit the poor’s need for him to obtain political or economic gains or to seek leadership positions. Rather, he used what God gave him to serve his religion, nation, homeland, and humanity as a whole. He did not exploit his noble profession to spread sectarian, religious, or political conflicts. Everyone testifies to his treatment of everyone who visited him for treatment, that he did not differentiate in his treatment between patients because of religion, sect, partisanship, language, color, or social class. May God have mercy on Dr. Muhammad Mashali and cover him with clouds of mercy, forgiveness, and pardon. We also call on students of knowledge to pray for the deceased scholar in these blessed days and to perform the funeral prayer in absentia for those who are able to pray for his funeral.
